“Hey, I’m doing the best I can; if you think you have a better strategery, let’s hear it.”
So here’s the deal, Dreamers; you can’t hold it against el Presidente for not being able to keep his June promise of amnesty comprehensive immigration reform:
In a Rose Garden statement June 30, Obama said he had given up on congressional action and had instructed top aides to deliver recommendations to him about what steps he could take to remake border control policies on his own.
"If Congress will not do their job, at least we can do ours," the president said that day. "I expect their recommendations before the end of summer and I intend to adopt those recommendations without further delay." – WaPo
Butt, gosh, have you seen all the blow back we’ve been getting? From those haters who think Congress IS doing its job by NOT passing amnesty comprehensive immigration reform?
Bowing to political concerns, President Obama will not announce any plans to take executive action to change immigration policy until after the November elections, despite promising in June he would act before the end of summer.
And the incoming is not just from haters, butt from Democrats too! Their polls are awful and that makes this a “serious political concern.”
Senate Democrats have warned that any bold executive action ran the risk of upending the chances of several Democratic incumbents running for reelection in southern states, where Obama is unpopular and the issue of immigration reform isn't as urgent.
So, my fellow Progressive Democrats, remember this: Big Guy’s inability to keep his promise to ignore the wishes of the (temporary) majority of the United States of America is all…the Republican’s fault? Yes, you’ve got it right.
"The reality the president has had to weigh is that we’re in the midst of the political season and because of the Republicans’ extreme politicization of this issue, the president believes it would be harmful to the policy itself and to the long-term prospects for comprehensive immigration reform to announce administrative action before the elections." – White House Official, speaking off the record, on behalf of the Administration,
Because of those pesky members of the loyal opposition, Barry’s team has determined that an Executive Order of Amnesty would be unsustainable at this time, and since el Presidente has made it perfectly clear that “when I take executive action I want to make sure that it’s sustainable.”
So we’ve giving the Presidential pen a rest and sending it off to play a little golf.
And once again, thanks to the stinkin’ Republicans, there’s yet another one of Big Guy’s “Promises Unkept.”
“Okay then, Mr. President, let’s move on to a different topic…another one that you didn’t lie about…”
