Dear God, Please Don’t Put America in the Compost Bin of History. Amen.

Burning question of the day:

• If America’s first half-black President knowingly but unintentionally turns the United States into a banana republic, would that be wrong? Illegal? Extremely careless? Does it depend on whether he actually intended to turn the world’s most “robust” economy into a banana republic? Would any reasonable prosecutor bring such a case?

Or is it racist of me to even bring this up?

Tomorrow we’ll explore this concept further butt for today just hold this happy thought: banana republics are highly susceptible to organic coups d'état, often lead by the military.

Dear God, please re-zip that banana peel and place it in the compost bin of history. And through your mercy may we be spared. Amen.
