Following on another manic Monday we head into whacky Wednesday. I think a little musical interlude is in order so I offer up this curated selection in which Game Show Hosts create a Myth of Fingerprints that ultimately leads to unsubstantiated allegations of Incidents and Accidents:
1. They All Seem Like Game Show Hosts To Me (aka If I Ever Lose My Faith In You – Sting)
Some would say I was a lost man in a lost world
You could say I lost my faith in the people on TV
You could say I'd lost my belief in our politicians
They all seemed like game show hosts to me
If I ever lose my faith in you
There'd be nothing left for me to do
I could be lost inside their lies without a trace
But every time I close my eyes I see your face
If I ever lose my faith in you
There'd be nothing left for me to do…
2. Myth of Fingerprints (aka All Around the World - Paul Simon:
Over the mountain, down in the valley
Lives a former talk-show host
Everybody knows his name
He said, "There's no doubt about it
It was the myth of fingerprints
I've seen them all and man, they're all the same"
Well, the sun gets weary
And the sun goes down
Ever since the watermelon
And the lights come up
On the black pit town
Somebody says what's a better thing to do
Well, it's not just me
And it's not just you…
3. Incidents and Accidents (aka You Can Call Me Al – Paul Simon)
…A man walks down the street
He says why am I short of attention
Got a short little span of attention
And whoa my nights are so long
Where's my wife and family?
What if I die here?
Who'll be my role-model
Now that my role-model is
Gone , gone?
He ducked back down the alley
With some roly-poly little bat-faced girl
All along, along
There were incidents and accidents
There were hints and allegations…
A note for New Left Progressives: just keep it up; keep on trumping our nominees.
Because if you want more Trump, I guarantee you, this is precisely how you get more Trump.
