How Can I Miss You When You Won’t Go Away?

How can I miss you when you won’t go away?

Keep telling you day after day

But you won’t listen, you always stay and stay

How can I miss you when you won’t go away?

- Dan Hicks and his Hot Licks

Ms. Ocasio-Cortez appeared with Chris Hayes on a MSNBC  “New Green Deal” special held ironically in the auditorium at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Watch, if you wish, the Bronx Bomber hold forth on her inconsiderable knowledge of the world in general and her lack of expertise in economics and science in particular.

If you don’t have time for 15 minutes of moronic discourse, a few highlights:

AOC conflating 9/11 with global warming.

“On the events on September 11, 2001 thousands of Americans died in the largest terror attack on US soil,” Ocasio-Cortez told host Chris Hayes.

“Our national response was war in one then eventually two countries: 3,000 Americans died in Puerto Rico due to Hurricane Maria. Where is our response?”

Related imageI got this!

I would point out that Ms. AOC was all of 11 years old when 9/11 took place, which clearly makes her an expert on all aspects leading up to and following the terrorist attack. Although I would think she could at least acknowledge the difference between a natural disaster and a “man-caused disaster” (h/t: BHO). And perhaps she could have, but for her elite college education where she learned that they are both “man-caused” (see above). And that means she knows more than you do.

Ocasio-Cortez also addressed the criticism of the cost of her plan by saying that the country needs to take action now, regardless of cost,  in order to avoid future catastrophe.

“So this issue is not just about our climate. First and foremost we need to save ourselves. Period.”

“There will be no future for the Bronx. There will be no livable future for generations coming, for any part of this country in a way that is better than the lot that we have today if we don’t address this issue urgently and on the scale of the problem.”

I would suggest that the same could be said, with much more evidence, about the crisis of illegal immigrants currently flowing across our border. But that makes me a White Supremacist – I love how they’ve ramped up the “racist” allegation, don’t you?

A self-described Democratic socialist, AOC dismissed the label that the Green New Deal is “socialism,” instead explaining that climate change “is a problem of market failure externalities in our economics.”

In case you don’t recognize it market failure externalities is a term AOC learned in her college economics class. Or more likely she picked it up later, when she attended Young Democrats for Socialism Training Camp, as she doesn’t really seem to know how to use it properly. She likes to pepper it into her stream-of-unconsciousness ramblings because she thinks it makes her sound erudite, which in turn gives her gravitas. Unfortunately when it is misused it greatly diminishes the desired effect.

But wait, she’s still not done: she also mocked Republican concerns about the $93 trillion price tag estimated for her Green New Deal.

“They wave this wand and they say, ‘Oh, it’s gonna cost, you know, a bazillion dollars.’ Like, they sound like Dr. Evil, like ‘100 million dollars,’” Ocasio-Cortez continued. “How about we start by fully funding the pensions of coal miners in West Virginia? How about we start by rebuilding Flint? Let’s just start now.”

In some circles that “argument” would be considered a non-sequitur, but in the case of AOC it passes for New Age wisdom.

MAGA, Grand Rapids Edition

President Trump held a rally in my hometown last night. By all first person accounts the Grand Rapids, MI rally was a resounding success from wheels down…

to wheels up

And everything in between.

Image result for grand rapids press trump

Just look at all those young white nationalists supporting Trump.

But as usual fake news was hard at work, giving equal time and attention to all the protestors who showed up in “Trump is literally Hitler!” masks and pink tights,

rallying for the “socialist alternative”

which I would remind them is currently operating without power or democracy in the country formerly known as Venezuela.

But yeah lady, great slogan. Because if you just build bridges instead of walls the the invasion of America could proceed at a much quicker clip and we could all be Venezuela faster than anybody could even imagine.

No thanks. I prefer my immigrants to be legal -  they tend to respect our laws and our way of life. Like me, they prefer to Make America Great Again instead of turning it into the same kind of hell-hole they left behind.

So let me explain once again, primarily for members of the fake news outlets, there is a YUGE difference between legal immigrants and illegal “immigrants” aka aliens. Once you grasp this basic difference perhaps you’ll stop calling our young non-minority males in red hats “radical rightwing white supremacists.”

Because that’s like judging a book by its cover, something fake news use to tell us we ought not do.

Go With Your Instinct

It’s been a few days since I even thought about our little green weenie let alone mentioned her and I was beginning to have AOC withdrawal. Sort of like a day without whatever anti-sunshine would be.

Cloudy with a chance of thunder

So while our country remains under siege by lawless invaders because Democrats think no person is illegal, which followed to its reasonable conclusion would let everyone out of prison, let’s focus instead on the silly little girl who somehow got elected to Congress. Because electing people like her is precisely why we are currently being invaded.

So, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, she of the hyphenated name and brain, first tweeted the world about “imposter syndrome” in January when someone pointed out that “people of color entering elite spaces are often attacked as undeserving charlatans.”

It’s not an attack if you really are an undeserving charlatan.

I guess that applies when that “elite space” is the House of Representatives and the “undeserving charlatan” is an inexperienced bartender who still owes taxes on a failed business that you can just bet was founded with a generous government grant for minority/female business owners.

But take heart: it seems that along with all the other obstacles she’s had to overcome - because there aren’t grants for everything a minority female needs to succeed - she’s managed to overcome her imposter syndrome as well.

She was of course talking about Mike Lee, who dared mock her infantile Green New Deal to save the world.

Sometimes you should just go with your first instinct.

Even If It Fits You Must Acquit

It’s a strange justice system we have.

Despite all evidence to the contrary a certain faction of the country refuses to accept the fact that their President isn’t guilty of whatever it is they had hoped he was. A two and a half year adversarial investigation came up with zip, zero, nada and per usual with this gang, what’s good news for America is bad news for them.

It’s just like their stance on global warming: there can be no good news, ever. Case in point: scientists report that Greenland’s glacier – whose demise Al Gore Inc has been predicting and bemoaning for decades now – is in fact growing. In the past they’ve simply ignored such reports as inaccurate of seasonal but they can no longer get away with that tact so they’ve gone back on offense:

The key point: “Greenland's Jakobshavn glacier is gaining ice due to cyclical changes in ocean temperature, but that doesn’t mean things are getting better.” Of course it doesn’t, there’s never good news for “Warmists” in the church of Al Gore. Yet we are the deniers.

So against this backdrop, is anyone surprised that Jussie Smollett not only walked on all 16 charges against him alleging that he staged his own attack, but that he continues to stick with his story that he is innocent? He still contends that he told the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth about being attacked by 2 white guys at 2:00 AM in the middle of a sub-zero Polar Express sweeping through Chicago when he decided to go out for a Subway snack. Or more specifically, he contends that it’s his truth. And if that truth’s good enough for the Cook County prosecutor, it should be good enough for you.

And suddenly, just like that, O.J. Simpson drops to #2 on the list of most dubiously innocent black men free to roam about.

Not to say that Jussie is innocent, but apparently “no reasonable prosecutor would bring charges” against him because, like Hillary, he has friends in low places.

Who’s Zoomin’ Who? Guess.

I’m offering a little musical interlude today, for several reasons:

First, because I love this song.

Second, if you re-imagine the players in terms of politics it’s even more fun.

Think about it: after 2+ years of inquests, investigations and probes the President has been exonerated. How does that go again? Something about turnabout and fair play?

Image result for Donald trump grinHere, hold my root beer!

What to expect:

So I give you this classic Queen of Soul offering to tap your toes to this morning as you contemplate the possibilities:

Who’s Zoomin’ Who?

You thought I'd be naive and tame
(You met your match) but I beat you at your own game, oh

Take another look, tell me baby
(Who's zoomin' who) who's zoomin' who?
(Who's zoomin' who?) now the fish jumped off the hook
Didn't I baby (who's zoomin' who?)…

Yea-a-ah
(Who's zoomin' who?) take another look, tell me, baby (who's zoomin' who?)
Who's foolin' who? (who's zoomin' who?)
Well, the fish jumped of the hook now, didn't I, baby?
(Who's zoomin' who?) ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh

Oh, and the final reason for a musical interlude today: because, as Glenn Reynolds put it: IF MY SCHADENBONER LASTS MUCH LONGER I’M GOING TO NEED TO SEE A DOCTOR

Everything’s Better With Some Morning Joe

Honestly, I was beginning to feel a smidge guilty about my glee and continual jubilation over the general  meltdown of the Democrats - along with their house organ, the MSM – over Mueller’s NO COLLUSION verdict.

But that was before I tuned into Morning Joe to check out their more fair and balanced view of the situation. There was  Mika doing what she does best, looking morose,

Joe doing what he does best, pretending to be a conservative, along with a team of impartial journalists consisting of Tom Brokaw, Chris Matthews, Mike Barnicle, Michael Beschloss, David Ignatius and some dour woman from the Washington Post

They spent half the time wistfully running old tapes – “Nixon’s last day”, “Nixon’s last farewell”, “Nixon’s last flight from Washington” - with their resident historians commenting on the similarities and, sadly, differences, between the two presidencies.

The other half was spent trying to pretend their hair wasn’t on fire by talking about what the President WASN’T exonerated of (obstruction of justice!) and things that were “still open to question” - investigations regarding Trump’s business, finances, and inauguration (inauguration??).

One guy whose name I forget penned an article for the Financial Times titled Robert Mueller Is The God That Failed Democrats. He opined that Nancy Pelosi, because she had been tempering expectations on the Mueller report, demonstrated “the sort of level headed reasonableness in terms of leadership the Democrats need.”  Right, lets get more level-headed reasonableness like Nancy’s.

A Failed Organic Coup

Evil wishes, like chickens, come home to roost.” – derived from Aesop’s Fables

Related image

Let’s be clear: what we have here is a failed coup. An orchestrated, choreographed coup.

Executed by a cabal consisting of the Democratic party, the Media and Deep State operatives entangled in every department of the U.S. government at a cost of $25 million (so far) over the span of 675 days. Even so they were unable to find or even manufacture anything that sticks. That should be good news for America so why does it leave partisan whack jobs on the left in tears?

Image result for rachel maddow tears mueller report

Because they’re on the other team

The Camp of the Cabal still contends the duly elected President of the U.S. is “not legitimate” and vows to “keep fighting.” Despite the fact that, as Mark Levin has pointed out, “there’s no such thing as collusion, and whatever it is, nobody did it.” But since this has never stopped the cabal before, don’t expect it to stop them now.

Because if you want to create an anomaly you have to break a few eggs.

As a wise sage has noted, these are Heinlein’s Crazy Years, we’re just living in them.
