See The U.S.A. in your Chevrolet

It’s worth noting that even in the Jetson’s future world of flying cars a driver was still required.

Related image

That’s because the Jetsons lived in a world where technology may have advanced but the fundamental elements of human nature remained the same. Which is to say most humans like to be in control. Driving gives us that sense, we can’t control the other idiots on the road but we can control how we maneuver around their stupidity. And that may be why we may actually be closer to the flying car

than the driverless car.

Related image Warning: the images in your rearview mirror are likely not your biggest concern

This despite Elon Musk’s dream car doing its best to get you to leave the driving to Tesla. Which strikes me as even more insane than turning control of your house over to Alexa. While I sort of get why you’d like a computerized assistant to restock the toilet paper and coffee supply I cannot in a thousand years imagine why you’d turn your car controls over to a computer whose guts were built in China and will be, like your laptop, prone to failure at the most inopportune moment…

leaving you completely vulnerable.

Autopilot was active when a Tesla crashed into a truck, killing driver.

The National Transportation Safety Board said a 2018 Tesla Model 3, driven by 50-year-old Jeremy Banner, was in autopilot mode when it collided with a semi truck.

NTSB investigators said Banner turned on the autopilot feature about 10 seconds before the crash, and the autopilot did not execute any evasive maneuvers to avoid the collision.

The Tesla was traveling 68 miles per hour at the time of the crash, according to the NTSB.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office said the tractor trailer pulled into the path of the Tesla, and the Tesla's roof was sheared off as it passed underneath the semi. Banner died at the scene.

But then, I’ve written about this before: Driverless Cars: The Pinnacle of Soul-Sucking Anti-American Wussification

Could there be anything less American than driverless cars?  I suppose sexbots might quality but certainly driverless cars are right up there.

289YWhy would you NOT want to drive this?

Seriously, driverless cars have no place in the land that practically invented the open road, hit-the-road-Jack-never-come-back motif.

Read the whole thing. It’s still fun. And that’s what cars once were: fun, fun, fun. Now you can take a 3 day cross country road trip and count on one hand the number of cars that are any color other than black, white, sliver or gray. Sad I tell you, just sad.

It’s So Simple When You Let Mother Nature Take the Lead

And then there’s this little gem: (emphasis mine)

A "transgender man" entered a hospital with severe abdominal pains. Because she was identified as a man, the doctors naturally did not think to treat her for labor and delivery, so she tragically lost the baby. Rather than emphasizing the danger of placing gender identity over biological sex, both the journal and The Washington Post made the absurd claim that the hospital should not have ruled out pregnancy for a man.

Of course they shouldn’t have ruled out pregnancy for a man – because that would just be crazy!

"He was rightly classified as a man" in the medical records and appears masculine, Dr. Daphna Stroumsa at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, wrote in the journal article. "But that classification threw us off from considering his actual medical needs."

No, the “classification” did not throw the medical staff off, it was the patient’s insistence that she was a he that did that. You may be able to fool yourself and your doctors but you can’t fool Mother Nature.

It’s science

"The point is not what's happened to this particular individual but this is an example of what happened to transgender people interacting with the health care system," she added.

The Washington Post's Marilynn Marchione argued that this case should make doctors aware of the "blurred lines" in medicine.

The “blurred lines” are not in medicine, but in the politically charged miasma of society at large where the absurd and insane have been embraced and treated as “normal” by people who ought to know better.

Citing the journal article, she claimed that the case "points to larger issues about assigning labels or making assumptions in a society increasingly confronting gender variations in sports, entertainment and government.

Funny thing: “assigning labels or making assumptions in a society increasingly confronting gender variations in sports, entertainment and government” (as if those are three different things) is an altogether new First World problem. Because apparently we don’t already have enough problems.

Thankfully there is a glimmer of hope that people are finally beginning to treat this newly embraced malady the old world way – through DNA testing: XX, you’re female, XY, you’re male.

So when “Mary” Gregory had her titles stripped after blowing everyone out of the water and setting records for her age and weight class at a 100% Raw Powerlifting Federation match she was naturally upset. But officials were clear:

“Mary” Gregory, at “her” weight-lifting event – the orchid nail polish would have fooled me too

“She put down female. Clearly, she’s not a female,” said Paul Bossi, 100% Raw Powerlifting Federation’s president. “Not biologically anyways.”

“In our rules, we go by biological,” he said. “According to the rules, she can only lift in the men’s division. … I’m not trying to hurt anyone’s feelings but I have to follow the rules.”

Do you see how simple it is when we just go with nature’s rules?

I don’t care how much you love it, it’s still not butter

Greeny, Hairy and Creepy

Can this possibly be true – Mayor de Blasio is throwing in with the gang that can’t shoot straight?  With all the fools and knaves running for Democratic presidential nominee the odds of winning are nearly as good as winning the lottery. Even at that Mayor de Blasio is a long, long shot. Or as the New York Post said:

“If you’re not laughing, then you don’t know Bill de Blasio like we know Bill de Blasio.”

They proceed to explain the joke:

He is both incompetent and crooked; oblivious and arrogant. He won his current job in a fluke election back in 2013, yet ever since has seemed certain that he’s destined to be a major national figure — despite falling on his face time after time.

The rest of the article details all the ways in which he is crooked, oblivious and arrogant. That he thinks we think he should run the country with these credentials pretty much proves the author’s point.

At least his presidential announcement explains this stupid Green New Deal stunt at Trump Tower – where he was trolled by Trump supporters on the famous escalators that PDJT road down when he announced his presidential bid.

Way to go Mayor de Blasio, but get in line behind Beto Boy who re-booted his campaign yesterday by getting his ear-hair trimmed at the barber shop.

As could be expected, the video clip posted via his Facebook campaign page was mercilessly mocked on social media, with people branding him 'egotistical' and questioning his campaign adviser's style of public relations

No wonder Creepy Joe is the leader in this crowded field.

The Democrats: with a tent so big anyone can wander in.

The “Wall Street Push Poll”

The “poll results” that you see are never, I repeat, never intended to reflect the voting plans, thinking, preferences, or views of any segment of the population.  “Polls” are intended to “push” you into voting, thinking, preferring or holding the view endorsed by the pollster - ipso fatso they are “push polls”.

At one time the stock market put the “capital” in capitalism, now it serves as more of a slot machine in what has become Wall Street’s giant casino. And like every other gambling establishment it attracts more than its share of shady characters looking to manipulate, control and benefit from all the gaming and gambling.

Accordingly, sudden stock market sell-offs resulting in huge drops are intended to rattle and  “push” the President, Congress or the Fed in a direction preferred by Big Banking.  Charles Payne explains:

Just one more aspect of modern life that once meant something and now, meh. If you have money invested in the stock market for your kids’/grandkids’ college fund or your retirement rest assured that your meager holdings are simply temporary collateral damage. Don’t flinch. What with all the new automated market tools at their disposal the movers and shakers find it quite easy to get the market to perform badly for awhile. If we’re lucky equilibrium will eventually return, surprisingly quickly when the Wall Street push poll maggots get their message across and accomplish their intended purpose (e.g. “we hate tariffs!).
I’m Maxine Waters and I can’t even pretend to understand this message let alone endorse it.

Anti-Semites R’us

Awwww…poor little Rashida.

Rashida and her homies are complaining about people taking her words out of context and using them to stoke racial hatred for political reasons. To be clear, that technique is only acceptable when applied to a President you don’t like…

Several news organizations took remarks President Donald Trump made Wednesday out of context to suggest he was referring to undocumented immigrants at large as "animals," when in context it appears the President was likely referring to members of a violent gang.CNN Business

Media Blatantly Distorting Trump's Words on CharlottesvilleThe Hill

So let’s analyze what Rashida said – editorial comments mine:

There's kind of a calming feeling I always tell folks when I think of the Holocaust, and [quick correctional thinking here, as she realizes what she just said] the tragedy of the Holocaust, and the fact that it was my ancestors, Palestinians, who lost their land and some lost their lives, their livelihood, their human dignity, their existence in many ways, have been wiped out, and some people's passports," Tlaib said. [the Joose took everything like they always do]

She continued, "I mean, just all of it was in the name of trying to create a safe haven for Jews, post-the Holocaust, post-the tragedy and the horrific persecution of Jews across the world at that time,[more quick executive editing and clarification here so critics can’t accuse her of being insensitive to the plight of the Jews] and I love the fact that it was my ancestors that provided that, right, in many ways. But they did it in a way that took their human dignity away, right, and it was forced on them. [by the bloody Jews and Jew lovers] And so when I think about a one-state, I think about the fact that, why couldn't we do it in a better way?" [because how can you ever expect my people to live in harmony in the midst of Joose?]

"I want a safe haven for Jews," [just not on this planet] she added. "Who doesn't want to be safe? I am humbled [angered] by the fact that it was my ancestors that had to suffer for that to happen, but I will not turn my back and allow others to hijack it and say that it's some extremist approach because they're coming from a place of... whatever it is... of division, inequality." [I believe the word you’re looking for is “hate”]

I will let Israeli U. N. Ambassador Danny Danon respond:

Then again, anti-Semitists have never really done history very well.

The Great Democratic/Media Echo Machine

If everyone is thinking alike, then somebody isn't thinking. – General George S. Patton

What is this week’s sound bite reverberating through the  great Democratic/Media echo machine?

Related imageThe patented Dem/MSM echo machine, cutting through the silence with the mellifluous sound of a chain saw

“Constitutional Crisis.” I would agree with if they allowed as how this “constitutional crisis” was due to their antics, not those of PDJT. One could certainly make the case that Democrats refusing to enforce any of the nation’s immigration laws, unlawfully spying on a political foe (raise your hand if you’re old enough to remember when the Democrats thought that was the worse crime on the planet) and currently ignoring the President’s call to stop the witch hunt and address the border crisis, the healthcare mess, the unbalanced China trade deal, Iran’s threat against our legally positioned troops in the Gulf, Little Kim’s out of control temper tantrums and Venezuela’s collapsed government. The manufactured “constitutional crisis” is hardly the only thing on our plate; we can ill afford their continuous childish behavior of pushing the veggies they don’t like around hoping they’ll turn into something else.

Now might be a good time for the Dems to drop the Kabuki theatre and “get back to work for the American people” in the words of a certain William Jefferson Clinton.

And in the words of the great General George S. Patton:

Happy Mother’s Day 2019

Here it is, Mother’s Day again…already. I’m reposting last year’s tribute to moms because a) I like it, and b) I’m hitting the road early. My mom will have been gone 10 years already later this month. It doesn’t seem possible as sometimes it seems she was here just yesterday. Mom: ever a part of you, always with you, even when she’s not.

Happy Mother’s Day, Mom.

It’s mother’s day, don’t forget to get mom some flowers. It doesn’t matter if you pick them, plant them or purchase them.

praire dog brought you flowersEvery mom loves flowers

To celebrate mothers is to celebrate life. If you’re fortunate enough to still have your mom with you, give her a hug. If not, honor her memory by recalling the good times you had when you were both young.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the Mom’s out there – and to everyone else who has - or ever has had - a Mom!
