The word of the year, or perhaps decade:
weaponize:
weap·on·ize | \ ˈwe-pə-ˌnīz
weaponized; weaponizing
Definition of weaponize
transitive verb: to adapt for use as a weapon of war
You’d have to be living in a cave to have not noticed how things have become weaponized in the 21st century, both figuratively and literally. The media, Hollywood, politics, science - everything is fair game as a weapon in the ideological war between the left and right.
Weaponized Zombie with extra ammo…just in case.
Therefore nearly everyone is aware that the left has weaponized race, gender, income, food, medicine, viruses, etc. in order to bludgeon their enemies on the other side of the great divide.
Many people are even aware that the most dangerous thing that’s been weaponized is data and information, although it, along with the weaponization of the education system, has been going on so long by the left that nobody pays any attention anymore. Thus between media and social media lies are able to spread faster than the speed of sound and anger even faster.
And yet Antifa, a communist organization committed to foment revolution and take down capitalism along with our government, has literally weaponized itself and none of our cultural literati care to take note. Antifa organizes, trains and executes its strategies in plain sight and the media is gloriously incurious, choosing to focus instead on the non-existent Russian collusion, Ukrainian hijinks and President Trump’s role in the spread of the Wuhan Coronavirus.
Todd Herman covers Antifa’s history at Legal Insurrection:
Antifa: well organized, practiced in street warfare, entering into Phase Two of Mao’s rules for Insurgencies.
Antifa loves guns, they have a militia arm and they have practiced seizing civilian infrastructure, part of Phase Two on Mao’s rules for Insurgencies
In notoriously anti-Second Amendment Seattle, Antifa open-carried. They commandeered a couple of blocks, as their “security arm”, the John Brown Gun Glub, prevented citizen journalist, and expert on Antifa and its funders, Andy Ngo, from filming the goings on. The Seattle media was incurious.
Between the figuratively weaponized aspects of our culture and the literal weaponization of a terrorist group dedicated to ending our way of life it appears hopeless. Even more reason to rally around a President who doesn’t accept the concept of “hopeless.”
“We shall nobly save, or meanly lose, the last best hope of earth.”
And now Raj and I have to get to the recently re-opened gun range.
