This is the sort of story you shouldn’t watch just before turning in for the night.
Documents gone missing in mid-stream - how did that happen? While it was clear this was a targeted theft I, like the “major overnight shipper,” had no clue how it was pulled off. As often happens in these circumstances, Sundance has a theory, apparently based on personal experience.
So here’s what I think took place. The package, likely a Fed-X delivery, was intercepted by FBI agents using mechanisms for tracking and surveillance that open targeting through portals connected to DHS.
As an outcome of the U.S. Patriot Act, the U.S. Dept. of Homeland Security has an agreement in place with mail shipping companies, public/private services, that essentially allows them a portal to track all in-state and interstate mail deliveries.
Here’s a reminder: between 2011 and 2019, in the middle of a Mormon polygamist enclave in Bluffdale, UT your government built one of the largest data centers ever assembled.

Its purpose: to intercept, decipher, analyze, and store vast swaths of the world's communications as they zap down from satellites and zip through the underground and undersea cables of international, foreign, and domestic networks.
It is also critical for breaking codes: financial information, stock transactions, business deals, foreign military and diplomatic secrets, legal documents, confidential personal communications—will be heavily encrypted. As Wired magazine noted 8 years ago, “in the little town of Bluffdale, Big Love and Big Brother have become uneasy neighbors.”
So sleep well tonight in the knowledge that your government’s National Security Agency is monitoring all of your news they think they have the right to know - and doing with it as they please.
