“When laws do not apply to those who write them people are not being governed, they are being ruled.” - Clay County Illinois Judge Michael McHaney
Take for example the overreaching mandates issued by governors, mayors, and petty local dictators such as city council members or even county bureaucrats like health directors, elected by absolutely no one. They issue their illegal edicts requiring masks, closing businesses, restricting private holiday celebrations, jerking restaurant owners around and ruining their employees lives by issuing indoor/outdoor dining bans at will. Yet if they feel like celebrating a birthday/anniversary they continue to wine and dine out opulently, in whatever sized group they wish. They enjoy their Thanksgiving with friends and family without fear of repercussion.
San Francisco Mayor London Breed dined at a posh Napa Valley restaurant the day after California's governor was there. San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo went to his parents' house for Thanksgiving. And a Los Angeles County supervisor dined outdoors just hours after voting to ban outdoor dining there. – Star Herald
When caught they apologize – for what? Being a hypocrite? Acting as an overlord? No, for using “bad judgement.” If it’s that bad that ought not be imposing it on the rest of us.
Neither the allusion,
nor the arrogant imperialism of it all has escaped the notice of the little people.
George Orwell warned us over 65 years ago about the evils of corporatism, socialism, authoritarianism, totalitarianism. That we continue to ignore that warning remains to me one of life’s great mysteries.
“If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face, forever.” George Orwell
That’s a big boot for such a little dick of a man
