“Très Terror Chic”: Rolling Along, Gathering No Moss

Why is everyone upset with Rolling Stone? They’re just doing what they do: celebrifying the base elements of society in order to make a buck. And let’s face it, it’s not as if Rolling Stone invented  “Très terror Chic” fashion.

Che Guevara t-shirts have been popular since the 60’s

Che-Guevara_T

Zapatista gear seemingly forever:

zapatista2

Keffiyehs since the 80’s

arafat

Mujahaddin scarves since the 90’s,

PKK guerilla

and "shemaghs"  since the ought’s. Of course, these all serve a very practical military purpose for both sides when you’re engaged in desert warfare.

Khaki Cotton Military Desert Shemagh_ScarfMade in China, for both sides

Butt that’s not what made them famous; celebrities did that.

Baby-daddy Kanye and Jay-Z: both down with the schtruggle

Soon the fashion was showing up everywhere: on selfies,

and was quickly co-opted by everyone from Rachel Ray to Howard Dean to the Reverend Al:

rachaelhoward dean of the mujhadinjesse-jackson-al-sharpton-16x9

Shortly thereafter the terror-chic scarves were “gentrified”

scrf-desert-scarf

and quickly became an object of desire by the ever burgeoning metrosexual class:

Justin Timberlake and Lady M, incognito

So I don’t hardly see how you can blame Rolling Stone for glorifying terror chic. That would be like blaming Lady M for glorifying table cloth and beach umbrella fashion.

o mo share 2

Lady M didn’t invent tablecloth and beach umbrella fashion, she just made it her own.

          Michelle-Obama-Marc-Jacobs-Striped-Silk-Simone-Dress-340x588OBAMA

The terrorist-chic look has been around ever since Fidel wrested Cuba from the hands of indolent upper class in order to make it the working man’s paradise it is today. And ever since, you simply can’t be any kind of a rebel with a murderous cause without a little terrorist bling. And that starts with a good scarf. And a good, high capacity “magazine” belt.

So let’s stop obsessing about this cover:

And get our attention redirected to this cover:

BenghaziCoverUp

And the one thing you can count on is that after the media gets tired of celebrifying evil, they will get back to vilifying the innocent. So my fashion advice for the near-future: invest in a few good keffiyehs. With the NSA hovering around everywhere, you never know when you, too, might need one.

We B Lyin’: A continuing series

The  Black sorority, Delta Sigma Theta, celebrated their 100th anniversary this week (imagine that: a BLACK sorority that’s 100 years old! In racist America!). And it seems that everybody and their grandmother helped them celebrate.

Big Guy met with them yesterday afternoon. Ricky met with them on Monday to make his own critical points on the state of race relations in America.

eric holder delta sigma theta

Echoing his famous 2009 speech about America being a “nation of cowards” on the issue of race, Ricky told the group that:

“This tragedy provides yet another opportunity for our nation to speak honestly about the complicated and emotionally charged issues that this case has raised,” Holder told the sorority delegates. “We must not – as we have too often in the past – let this opportunity pass.”

Ah! That’s true Chicago thinking at it’s best. So, that’s why we have to look at “stand your ground” laws. Apparently self-defense is no longer a basic right, it’s a concept to be re-examined in post-racial America to see if it still makes “common sense.” Like all those other old fashioned “concepts” about the right to bear arms.

Butt the highlight of the Delta Sigma Theta convention was actually the appearance of our former Secretary of State and future President, Hillary Clinton. There are two signs that Hill has officially started her 2016 campaign: 1) she’s kicked her pandering into high gear:

“Yesterday I know you heard from the Attorney General about the next steps from the Justice Department and the need for a national dialogue,” she said. “As we move forward as we must I hope this sisterhood will continue to be a force for justice and understanding.”

and 2), the sista’ has a new stylist and a new ‘do.

hillsOtherwise, everything’s the same

bill-clinton-vegan

If you see what I’m saying.

Meanwhile, in solidarity with Rachel Jeantel, Press Secretary Jay Carney was practicing his  “new school” speak yesterday in response to reports that some employers were hiring more part-time employees because of the president's signature healthcare law. He explained to the compliant media that such claims about Obamacare are “belied by the facts.”

Which is a little like being “bejeweled” and “bedazzled:”

     article-2107213-11EE9201000005DC-856_634x790michelle-obama-kennedy-center-honors-2012

I’m no expert on “new school” speak, butt I think a reasonable interpretation of what Jay-Jay was saying was “we b lyin’ and the peeps b cryin’.”

obamacare think - you're fired

Bedazzled by his own words, Jay-Jay  continued his new school message about Obamacare for all you peeps out there: “we b lyin’,  you b buyin’: HOPE you don’t b dyin’.” Chumps.

Racial Justice: Dance With The Won Who Brung Ya’

I swore, no more discussion of the Zimmerman case. Butt then I read that Ricky was looking into charging him with a federal hate crime: murder “animated by racial hatred.” Wow! That’s surprising, considering that the jury didn’t believe George Zimmerman was racially motivated - or a murderer, the FBI couldn’t find any evidence of racial animus in his actions, and now this story, which seems to corroborate the fact that George Zimmerman was not only not a racist, butt an advocate for racial equality (h/t Gateway Pundit):

…a drunk adolescent son of a Sanford police official attacked a homeless black man named Sherman Ware without provocation.

The Sanford police were sweeping the crime under the rug and very little was done about the incident. Ironically, the NAACP did nothing as well, but it was Zimmerman and his wife who started a “Justice for Sherman Ware” campaign. It was Zimmerman who succeeded in organizing the black community to get results and justice for Sherman Ware. Yet ironically, Sherman Ware’s sister, Tonnetta Foster, was among the NAACP protesters promoting the “racist” meme against Zimmerman. Shame on the NAACP and Tonnetta Foster (of all people).

Hmmm; that sure doesn’t fit the “the white Hispanic ‘racist’ meme” very well, so don’t expect to hear anything about it, well, anywhere.

Oh, and then there’s this: a picture of George’s Mom’s grandfather:

zimmerman's great grandfather

Yes, that would be George’s great-grandfather. He looks like he could be…black? Really!? Uncle Tom stories to follow. I’m beginning to think that if Barack Hussein Obama, “Self-professed Black,” had a son who was a “community organizer,” he’d look just like George Zimmerman!

So enough of that, let’s turn to something important. As Sara B first reported yesterday, we’ve had another unfortunate “Bitch Stole My Look!” incident.

huma mo

Here’s MO in the $70 ASOS frock; seen here for the first and last time in August, 2012 on the Big Black Bus Fly-over Tour stops in Dubuque and Davenport Iowa.

Where we really earned our keep; first, faking sincerity:

And then getting down with the hayseeds:

Of course this isn’t the first time we’ve seen the WONs enjoying a little square dancing.  I previously did a whole post on their swing skills:

“Swing your partner Round and Round

And turn your corner upside down.”

swing baby swing mo

“Right foot up and a left foot down,

You’ll want to see the rest here. It’s pretty good, if I do say so myself. Embarrassed smile

Okay, just to entice you, here’s one more verse:

“Promenade round that ring so fine
Till the cows come home
And the Oxen-dine”

promonade3

Anyway, back to the issue at hand: Huma stealing Lady M’s frock. Wow – and you thought Huma Weiner’s hubby had “hutzpah”! He does…we all saw it!

TIME seems to think that this was a purposeful rip-off:

It would be surprising if Abedin—also a Democrat, along with her husband—was not aware that her dress was a rerun. Was this a calculated move to evoke some of the closeness that the First Couple share?

bo mo dubuque

Concluding that it is probably an inspired move:

Of course, there are worse people to take a page from in the style department than Mrs. Obama.

Indeed. There’s Lady Gaga for sure, along with Madonna, Beyoncé,

gagax-largeMadonna Kicks Off Sticky Sweet Tour Cardiff vo3p48-Cp_Albeyonce back to black

and, at the opposite end of the spectrum, Huma’s second mother and political mentor:

headscarf hil

Butt the number one worst person that Huma Weiner could have taken a page from in the style department is…drum roll, please:

Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro! rosa DelauraRosa’s got a lot of “hutzpah” too…although we haven’t seen it…yet!

So now you’re all free to get on with your day knowing that the fashion future of New York City’s next first lady is in good hands.

We might want to work on her makeup next. Unless that’s a mustache, in which case we have other issues.

Congressman Twitter PhotoAt least Huma doesn’t have to deal with the trauma of BRF.

I Don’t Care What the Question is, the Answer is Gun control.

Big Guy has effectively combined the precept: “If all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail,” with the Alinskyite mantra, “Never let a crisis go to waste,” and come up with a new, useful axiom for today’s world: “Never let a tragic death go without hammering for more gun control.”

Accordingly, in a move some might consider ironic, Big Guy – who “inadvertently” (wink, wink) teed up the racial animus by claiming that if he had a son, he’d look just like Trayvon – assumed his old role as Appeaser-in-Chief,

lords-white

and issued the following statement yesterday:

The death of Trayvon Martin was a tragedy.  Not just for his family, or for any one community, but for America.  I know this case has elicited strong passions.  And in the wake of the verdict, I know those passions may be running even higher.  But we are a nation of laws, and a jury has spoken.  I now ask every American to respect the call for calm reflection from two parents who lost their young son.  And as we do, we should ask ourselves if we’re doing all we can to widen the circle of compassion and understanding in our own communities.  We should ask ourselves if we’re doing all we can to stem the tide of gun violence that claims too many lives across this country on a daily basis.  We should ask ourselves, as individuals and as a society, how we can prevent future tragedies like this.  As citizens, that’s a job for all of us.  That’s the way to honor Trayvon Martin.

If George Zimmerman wasn’t a “self-professed Hispanic” we might have been able to use the case to promote the benefits of our new amnesty immigration bill too.

0725-laraza_full_600

Instead, ahead of pushing our open southern border amnesty comprehensive immigration reform plan this week, we’re first going to invoke the angry masses to remain calm and quietly hawk for gun confiscation.

gun-control-brain-wash-eric-holderBecause no matter what the problem, the answer is “more gun control”

Here’s my advice: ignore all the piffle emanating from the likes of the Reverend Justice Brothers, Ben Jealous, Malik Zulu Shabazz, and all the other Tweet-heads out there who are  irresistibly drawn to indiscriminately download the contents of their low-information little brains to the tweetoshpere. (Unless you woke up feeling unusually masochistic, in which case Weasel Zippers has a comprehensive collection of the wit and wisdom of the moronic minions of the Society of Perpetual Race Baiters®).

The only extra-credit reading I would assign is Roger Simon’s “Obama Big Loser in Zimmerman Trial”the Trayvon case:

By injecting himself in a minor Florida criminal case by implying Martin could be his son, the president of the United States — a onetime law lecturer, of all things — disgraced himself and his office, made a mockery of our legal system and exacerbated racial tensions in our country, making them worse than they have been in years. This is the work of a reactionary, someone who consciously/unconsciously wants to push our nation back to the 1950s.

Boy, that’s harsh. He even went on to say:

(this case) was, quite literally, the first American Stalinist “show trial.” There was, virtually, no evidence to convict George Zimmerman.

stalin_posterPoster_Obama_Child_Stalin

Okay, now you’ve gone too far.

Not Guilty: Official Outrage to Follow

George Zimmerman, “self-described Hispanic,” was acquitted late last night.

Screenshot Studio capture #1233 Robert and Gladys (née Mesa) Zimmerman, basis of George’s self-description

We turn to the New York Times, America’s newspaper of record, for an inciteful (sic) reporting of the facts. Editorial comments and emphasis added.

George Zimmerman [“white Hispanic” with a Jewish name], the neighborhood watch volunteer who fatally shot Trayvon Martin, an unarmed black teenager, igniting a national debate on racial profiling and civil rights, [thanks to the DOJ, the Jackson-Sharpton Society of Perpetual Race Baiters® and their honorary members in the complicit media]  was found not guilty late Saturday night of second- degree murder. He was also acquitted of manslaughter, a lesser charge.

After three weeks of testimony, the six-woman jury rejected the prosecution’s contention that Mr. Zimmerman had deliberately pursued Mr. Martin because he assumed the hoodie-clad teenager was a criminal and instigated the fight that led to his death [although we here at the NYT have not, and will not reject it].

(snip)

The case began in the small city of Sanford as a routine homicide but soon evolved into a civil rights cause examining racial profiling and its consequences — an issue barred from the courtroom — and setting off a broad discussion of race relations in America. Mr. Martin, with his gray hooded sweatshirt and his Skittles — the candy he was carrying — became its catalyst [due in no small part to diligent reporting on the racial profiling charge against Mr. Zimmerman by us and other media outlets constantly on the lookout for racism in America.].

Even President Obama [self- described black man] weighed in a month after the shooting, expressing sympathy for Mr. Martin’s family and urging a thorough investigation. “If I had a son,” Mr. Obama said, “he’d look like Trayvon.”

obama parentsBarack Obama Sr. and Stanley Ann; basis of BO’s self-description as a black man

George Zimmerman has been found not guilty by a jury of his peers. However the NAACP and the jury of the Society of  Perpetual Race Baiters® is not persuaded. They will continue to hound George and use him as an example of racial injustice for decades to come; thus the tragedy of one young man’s death becomes the tragedy of character assassination and ruination of another young man’s life.

So here’s our official halftime score: American Justice System 1, Race Baiting Prosecutors Acting Stupidly 0. Official Race Baiting outrage to follow.

Let’s hope we can hold on and win in the second half.
