Your Centralized Whiteness Offends Me.

Yesterday we discussed the new disorder plaguing white middle class Americans: Empathy Deficit Disorder (EDD).

empathy3

Today I thought I would pursue one of the root causes: Snowflake Syndrome (ϟϟ).

The latest outbreak of ϟϟ - at Seattle University, Matteo Ricci College School of Humanities - has been documented by the Daily Caller and, as the saying goes, requires a special kind of stupid. A brief summary: students at the Matteo Ricci School of Humanities took over the Dean’s office and demanded that the Dean be fired and all of their demands (which are ample) be met.

Chief among their demands is an order for the school to adopt a new curriculum that “decentralizes Whiteness and has a critical focus on the evolution of systems of oppression such as racism, capitalism, colonialism, etc.” The curriculum should be taught by “professors of color and queer professors” and should place particular emphasis not on traditional educational concepts but instead on “racism, gentrification, sexism, colonialism, imperialism, global white supremacy, and other ethical questions about systems of power.”

It sounds like the Democratic party platform.

white

Your centralized whiteness offends me.

It’s also right out of the textbook, literally, of the Bill Ayers series titled Teaching For Social Justice – agitprop of the first order which is considered required reading at many university schools of education.  It ensures that future teachers are adequately trained to pass on the agitprop. Additional doctrine from the bible of Social Justice explains why this demand is necessary:

One of the protesters, 22-year-old Fiza Muhammad, told The Stranger this demand was necessary to undermine Matteo Ricci’s current focus on the Western canon, which she dismissed as the work of old, racist, sexist white men.

Which clearly requires additional training:

The demands also request a substantial amount of re-education for professors, so they will be more prepared to deal with “microaggressions” on campus.

Yes, yes! Bring on the re-education camps for the unconverted, the apostates, the infidels!

Muhammad said these demands were necessary because currently professors at the school “call [her] aggressive and emotional” when she complains to them.

See? “Aggressive and emotional!?!” That’s a major macro-micro aggression right there!

mo shovel jello

The occupiers appear to have come equipped to stay awhile, with The Stranger reporting they showed up with pillows, pizzas, and even a speaker system for blasting out Beyoncé’s new Lemonade album.

lemonade beyonce baseball bat giffyBeyoncé: role model for the Obama girls and other up-coming social justice warrior-ettes.

They also erected a homemade poster displaying the “House Rules” of the occupation, such as:

  • This space centers Trans folx, differently-abled people, womxn of color, people of color + Queer folx!!!
  • This is a healing space. We are here to transform a previously violent space into a celebratory one
  • We all agree on the critical race theory definition of race, privilege, etc.

I have no problem with “Trans folx” “Womxn of color,” “people of color + Queer folx” – and I really admire the spelling creativity. “Butt” I am curious (is that a microaggression?) as to why they’re all grouped together. Shouldn’t they all have their own, separate “centering” spaces? Unless you’re a differently-abled, born female non-binary queer person of color? In which case you’ve pretty much won the victim/grievance lottery and can go anywhere you want.

rainbowdifferently-abled, born female non-binary queer person of color restroom

Did I mention that Seattle University is a Catholic University? Jesuit, of course.

Seattle University is a Catholic school, and Matteo Ricci College operates a special program with several local Catholic high schools that allows for students to begin college-level work in high school and then graduate after just three years of undergraduate work. The occupiers demand an end to this special relationship, arguing it excludes non-white and low-income students. They also demand the school “stop using the bodies of students of color to advertise diversity.”

I give up; how else are you supposed to “advertise diversity?” I might need to check into re-ed camp myself. Finally, we get a summary of why students find these demands reasonable:

Once again, these concerns are urgent and necessitate an immediate response, to be handled with utmost severity and care. Dissatisfaction, traumatization, and boredom are realities within our collective MRC experiences, as well as being ridiculed, traumatized, othered, tokenized, and pathologized.

queerNo, trust me; they’re doing that to themselves

These experiences have been profoundly damaging and erasing, with lasting effects on our mental and emotional well-being. Additionally, the curriculum in MRC is unsatisfactory as a Humanities program. For students to have their personal and ancestral voices erased in curriculum and conversation, only to be told that their experiences of pain are insignificant, is psychologically abusive.

queer means

Too bad the ϟϟ won’t study western civilization; if they did they might discover that fascism in all its forms always turns out badly.

Maybe they should take a couple of Tylenol and get over themselves.

Don’t Call; I Don’t Care

Here’s an important study: Empathy loss: Tylenol makes you care less about other people's pain. Normally my first question would be “who funded this study?” however in this case I think it’s pretty obvious that it was the Motrin/Advil cabal.

It’s a classic case of an explanation in search of a problem  -and they’ve found one: Americans just aren’t as empathetic as they used to be.  Of course once the  problem was isolated, research dollars could be allocated to researching the cause: why are so many Americans today incapable of identifying with the pain and shutruggles of their fellow Americans?

I can think of a plethora of reasons for Americans’ shrinking empathy gene - and none of them have anything to do with acetaminophen, ibuprofen or aspirin. Here’s my short list:

  • BLM/WLD (black lives matter butt white lives don’t)

blm5

  • Undocumented illegal aliens sucking up tax payer funded benefits they’re not eligible for and bitching about it.

our continent la raza

  • Muslims demands that America accommodate them rather than them assimilating to our customs.

muslim-american-gothic-painting-122425

  • Feminnazis, who think all men should die, especially white men:

patriarchy

  • Gays, who demand we recognize their life style as normal.

Rainbow-cake1

I said: bake me a cake, Christian! Because your freedom of religion stops where my demands begin.

  • Transgenders, who demand we accommodate their confusion as it, too, is just another notch on the “normal” spectrum.

pointers setters bathroom

  • Snowflakes who need safe spaces to protect them from being offended by everything from Halloween costumes to  ‘chalkings”

trump chalk#TheChalking

I’m sure you can think of many other contributing factors to America’s declining empathy. My prescription: take 2 painkillers of your choice and don’t bother to call. I don’t care.

Lord Love a Duck

500912553_17154134_8colNext year we might even get our own locker kids!

Every year for 13 years now Vanessa the duck flies into a courtyard surrounded by walls and windows at an elementary school in Hartland Michigan to lay her eggs. Unfortunately when her ducklings hatch - since they can’t fly yet - there’s no way out. So Vanessa walks to the school door, quacks loudly till somebody opens it and then leads her brood on a march through the school halls and out another door that leads to a pond - and the good life that all ducks have a right to.

Such a trusting soul; Vanessa must be a democrat. Who else would make the same bad life decision for the past 13 years in a row and still expect that somebody will step up to make sure everything works out all right? On the other hand, once you’ve come to rely on the kindness of strangers to compensate for all your bad decisions, why change?

Lord Love a Duck! Maybe the educators could turn this annual display of lack of common sense into a common core lesson.

duck2

Probably not though. I’m guessing Vanessa’s inability to select a more appropriate nesting habitat is not her fault butt rather due to gender confusion…or global warming. Either way, try to remember that Duck Lives Matter.

Free Day

The next two days are busy around here so I’m leaving you to your own devices: don’t make me regret it.

If you need a little something to get started let me direct you to Gerard’s eclectic collection of facts, fads and fun at American Digest. There’s tons of new stuff every day. Take yesterday for example: there’s the 1941 Billie Holliday recording of God Bless the Child along with the interesting back story on it’s inspiration.

Then, from the endless archives of Gerard’s fertile mind, there’s a reposting of PART II of GROWLDEMOCRAT! by Gerard Allen Van der Ginsberg,  (PART I here if you missed it):

democratlucifer

What Socialist Party of lies and slavery bashed open American skulls and sucked out their freedom, brains and imagination?

Democrat! Darwinist Solitude! NEA Filth! Pelosi Perversion! Obamunist Onanism. NPR racism! Recycling Cans to find unobtainable dollars to pay off deficit trillions! Unborn children screaming silent under the D&C! Boys sobbing for fathers! Girls for mothers! Wives for husbands! Husbands for families! Impoverished old men and weeping in the parks!

Democrat! Democrat! Nightmare of Democrat! Democrat the loveless! Gone mental Democrat! Democrat the heavy aggregation of girly-men!…

Trust me, Allen Ginsberg never sounded so good.

And there’s even a tribute to our Marcus Tullius Cicero that’s certainly worthy of a read:

“Long before our own time, the customs of our ancestors molded admirable men, and in turn these eminent men upheld the ways and institutions of their forebears.

Our age, however, inherited the Republic like some beautiful painting of bygone days, its colors already fading through great age; and not only has our time neglected to freshen the colors of the picture, but we have failed to preserve its form and outlines.”

obama-hope-fading (1)

It’s quite disconcerting how routinely, and reliably, history repeats itself.

Obama-Chamberlain If this doesn’t guarantee peace in our time could I do this with it?

Carry on troops, I think you all know by now when you should go sit in the corner.

"As Barack says, a three letter word: Jobs!" –Joe Biden

When the government jobs and economy report was released last Friday, it wasn’t quite as rosy as we’ve been led to believe:

Economist Herbert Stein famously observed, "If something cannot continue, it will stop." Given other readings on the economy, the rapid growth in jobs that was reported by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) for 4Q2015 and 1Q2016 could not continue. So, in April, it stopped. [ed. in other words, we lied about jobs growth, again.]

dilbert_made_up_numbersTelling lies with statistics is so easy even a politician can do it

Friday's BLS "Employment Situation" report was terrible. FTE* employment fell by 296,000, and America moved 376,000 FTE jobs farther away from full employment, bringing our total FTE jobs shortfall up to 12.9 million.

The labor force participation (LFP) rate plunged to 62.82%, erasing all of the improvement since June 2014. Falling LFP has been one of the most distinctive features of the Obama economy, and April's LFP was down by 4.3 percentage points from its April 2000 peak. This is equivalent to 11.4 million Americans giving up finding jobs.

As we head toward the 2016 elections, the economy is definitely slowing down.

It is now certain that President Obama will be the only U.S. president in history that did not deliver a single calendar year of 3.0%+ economic growth, and the fourth-worst in history in terms of average RGDP growth while in office.

It is also certain now that Obama will have presided over the feeblest economic recovery of the post-WWII era, following the worst recession of the post-WWII era. Here is the data:

How, you ask, does a failed novelist spin this non-recovery story? Check it out, from Barry’s remarks on the economy last Friday:

THE PRESIDENT:  Good afternoon, everybody.  Seven years ago, in April of 2009, our economy lost nearly 700,000 jobs, and the unemployment rate hit 9 percent on its way to 10 percent.

Seven years later, in April 2016, our economy added 160,000 new jobs.  That makes April the 74th consecutive month of private sector job growth in America.  Over that record streak of job growth, our businesses  [ed. “you have a business – you didn’t build that yourself. Somebody else did that!”] have created 14.6 million new jobs in all. Wages have been rising at an annual rate of more than 3 percent this year. [ed. – that just about tracks with the “official” inflation rate, which, of course ,is also a lie.]

shadow stats inflation

So the [economy] has been growing, unemployment has been falling, and wages have been rising.  But the global economy, as many people here are aware, is not growing as fast as it should be.  You're still seeing lagging growth in places like Europe, Japan, and now China.  Here in the United States, there are folks out there who are still hurting.  And so we've got to do everything we can to strengthen the good trends and to guard against some dangerous trends in the global economy. And if the Republican Congress joined us to take some steps that are pretty common-sense, then we could put some additional wind at the backs of working Americans.

Translation: I’ve done a great job butt now the stinkin’ Republicans are preventing me from helpin’ the “folks out there who are still hurtin’”

To create new jobs, they should invest in our infrastructure -- our roads, our bridges, our schools, our water mains.  Some of you joined me when I went to Flint this week.  It was a great example of the kind of work that is out there to be done.

u1_flintwater1Flint water main leaking contaminated city water: “a great example of the kind of work that is out there to be done.” Also a great example of incompetent government at work.

And we could be putting people all across this country back to work, with huge multiplier effects across the economy, if we started investing in the infrastructure that will make us more productive.

Butt wait! I thought we already did that!  Stimulus! - The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 – remember? Congress authorized 800 billion dollars for infrastructure “shovel ready jobs” that weren’t quite so shovel ready?

coal-shovel2Coal, definitely not shovel ready

And apparently not quite so “infrastructure” either.

The federal government poured billions into the government and education sectors, where unemployment was low, but spent only about 10% on promised infrastructure, though the unemployment rate in construction was running in double digits.WSJ

That’s right, unable to find enough of those shovel ready jobs the government instead spent money on itself, well as studies that should have been shoveled under:

$783,000 was spent on a study of why young people consume malt liquor and marijuana. $92,000 went to the Army Corps of Engineers for costumes for mascots like Bobber the Water Safety Dog. $219,000 funded a study of college "hookups." - WSJ

So lets review: Most of the $800 billion stimulus package that has become part of the government’s base budget going forward; that means the stimulus for “infrastructure” programs as of today is actually closer to $6 trillion. And yet the economy is still in a quagmire and Barry says it’s the fault of the do-nothing Congress filled with Republicans who must now authorize more? Has it not occurred to him or his staff of failed novelists that the welfare multiplier theory of economic expansion is a fallacy? That “every dollar a person receives in food stamps puts $1.79 back into the economy” is a myth, not withstanding Nancy Pelosi’s fervent and incorrect belief?  That neo-Keynesian government spending does not work because no matter how you try government simply cannot create real market jobs?

Richard Feynman

I’m speechless.

Breaking Bad: It’s the Same Old Story

ozymandias breaking bad

Disappearing emails from Hillary’s IT expert?

Well, who would know better how to make emails disappear than an IT expert?

Facebook censoring conservative newsfeed stories?

facebook

Well, it is part of their corporate charter.

Reappearing Hillary email - in the hands of the Russians?

The report notes that shortly after Russia obtained Clinton’s emails, they released a limited amount to RT TV which were published in an article in March 2013, titled Hillary Clinton’s ‘hacked’ Benghazi emails: FULL RELEASE.

2013? Apparently nobody in the American media was interested at the time so it took awhile (2 1/2 years) before anyone in the press bothered to note it at all:

The Associated Press reported in October 2015 that “Hillary Clinton’s private email server maintained in her home while serving as secretary of State was possibly hacked by Russia-tied authorities, and others, on five separate occasions.

hillary hacked emails gucifer

At which time Facebook squelched the dispersion of the AP newsfeed, as did ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, New York Times, Washington Post, LA Times, etc.

Because, boys and girls (or however you choose to self-identify today), in the land of Ozymandias all the news that they see fit to print is based on input from our intellectual betters and told by failed novelists.

Swimming With Sharks and Other Fun Monday Games

Let the games begin! Lady M and Prince Harry kicked off the Invictus games -  an International sporting event for wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women – on ESPN last night in Orlando.

Harry can relate to the injured warriors as he fought beside them in Afghanistan. And Lady M can relate because, um, she’s black. In America.

And now, because Mondays are tough enough, I’m just going to shut up.

And keep swimming. Cuz that’s what sharks do.

And then I’m going for a relaxing massage:

And then I’m going to bake one of Lili’s little chocolate cakes – and eat the whole thing!

I hope you have a good Monday too.

If You Don’t Want a Bad Trip, Don’t Get On the Bus

“Dear Mother, I meant to write you before this and I hope you haven't been worried.... I have met some Beautiful People and...” Tom Wolfe, The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test

Many mothers across America got some version of this letter during the 1960’s-70’s as their sons and daughters were tuning in, turning on and dropping out. The drug of choice at the time, along with the perennial favorite, marijuana, was LSD. And while Timothy Leary’s name is most often cited as it’s leading proponent the de facto leader of the of mind-expanding, transcendental LSD cult was Ken Kesey, a young writer who had just published One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest.

In 1967 Thomas Wolfe, an established journalist, joined Kesey’s band of Merry Pranksters, boarded the Day-Glo bus named “Further” and left California for New York, acid tripping their way across America. Wolfe was there to chronicle the “happening” in the manner of what was then “new journalism” and the result was an entertaining book titled The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test.

tom wolfe acid

Interestingly, what was “new” journalism then – injecting yourself into the story and relating the facts as you  fancifully see fit, is now just journalism. Once the purview of Fine Arts and English programs, non-fiction today has oozed its way into J-schools as “literary reportage” which helps explain situations like those examined in yesterday’s post. Most journalists are now writers of creative non-fiction – a genre that not too long ago would have been considered an oxymoron.

As I was reading this year’s Mothers Day Proclamation I was suddenly struck by how similar the Story of BO is to the Ken Kesey story. Both stories are about charismatic leaders whose only credentials were their books; both led movements to transform America into something they thought would be better by having their followers drink(literally, in Kesey’s case) acid-laced Kool-aid.

acid kool-aid

Both stories evolve around a messianic anti-hero.

anti hero archetypeother_1_anti-hero

Would it be too cynical of me to note that in this, the last year of the Occupancy, nothing - and I mean nothing - falls outside the influence of the Obama electric Kool-Aid acid test? To point out that nothing is sacred any more, nothing is exempt from being transformed by the giant, psychedelic propaganda machine which is transforming Amerika bit by bit every day?  If it’s just me, then fine; perhaps I just over-reacted to Barry’s 2016 Mother’s Day message:

BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

A PROCLAMATION

On Mother's Day, we celebrate those who are the first to welcome us into the world.  Performing the most important work there is, mothers -- biological, foster, or adoptive -- are our first role models and earliest motivators.  They balance enormous responsibilities and shape who we become as adults, their lessons guiding us throughout life.  Regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or marital status, mothers have always moved our Nation forward and remained steadfast in their pursuit of a better and brighter future for their children…

NOW, THEREFORE, I, BARACK OBAMA, President of the United States of America, do hereby proclaim May 8, 2016, as Mother's Day.  I urge all Americans to express love and gratitude to mothers everywhere, and I call upon all citizens to observe this day with appropriate programs, ceremonies, and activities. [ed. - apparently flowers, candy and dinner out are not structured enough and therefore not state-approved] Read the whole thing if your crap detector hasn’t already reached terminal velocity.

Happy Mother’s Day, to the Mother of the Year

StanleyAnnsBaby

“Everything was becoming allegorical, understood by the group mind, and especially this: "You're either on the bus...or off the bus.” ― Tom Wolfe, The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test

My advice: if you don’t want a bad trip, don’t get on the bus.
