Meanwhile, in international news,Gay Pride parade banned in Istanbul – as reported in the appropriately titled NO COMMENT section of Euro News. Of course there’s no point having a parade in a Muslim country where, as everyone knows, they simply “do not have that phenomenon.” Probably because of the way they deal with it when they do.
And in related news, no Gay Pride parades were held in Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq or anywhere else in the Islamic State. TRIGGER WARNING: Microaggresion ahead.
Who took the “news” out of newspaper, news report and news coverage?
Let’s look no further than just last Friday as demonstration of this sad state of affairs. Early Friday morning when Christiane Amonpour finally processed the results of the Brexit vote to “LEAVE” she released a venomous attack and condemnationof those who led and voted for Brexit. Not only did she blur the line between reporting and commentary, she veered into the advocacy lane and steered right into proselytizing.
CHRISTIANE AMANPOUR: So, this is a moment of destiny that many, many people, the overwhelming, the overwhelming preponderance of experts and independent analysts and allies of the UK and the scientists, and the academics and the economists and the business and even the sports people, the overwhelming majority said, "Stay in the EU." The people wanted to do something different.
How dare they? The preponderance of experts and analysts…and SPORTS PEOPLE! We had a CONSENSUS! Where did all these heretics come from!?!
First, there is no NEWs in this “story,” it is simply a rerun of a story from 2002 about a questionable earnings release in 2000 by Trump Hotels & Casino Resorts that the SEC claimed was misleading. There was no attempt to explain the phenomena of pro forma earnings releases that swept the country in the late 90’s. There was no explanation that in the world of accounting “pro-forma” is practically a synonym for “misleading.”
Butt for crying out loud:
If you see “pro forma” in an earnings release it should trigger a flashing red light that sends any sensible investor to the company’s public SEC filing of their financial statements where they are required to use Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. That’s where you can find out what’s really going on. Butt that’s too hard. And that’s another post.
The point is, the main story in Friday’s Money section was a Trump smear piece based on a 16 year old incident and a 14 year old story that contained zero new information. When was the last time USA Today covered a negative story about Hillary Clinton – old or new?
Don’t get me wrong, I’m a big proponent of complete disclosure – in business, politics and journalism. I don’t like it when companies lie to me, I hate it when politicians lie to me and I abhor journalists who pretend to be neutral observers when in fact they are flag bearers for the Make America Clinton’s Again camp.

Somewhat off topic: NBC is running a six hour Fourth of July Howdy Doody marathon, bookended by a brand-new half-hour "Howdy Doody for President" special, which looks back on Howdy's two runs for the White House — in 1948 and 1952 — on a platform that included double sodas for a dime, two Christmas holidays annually and only one school day per year. If James Messina had run his 1948 campaign Howdy would have beaten both Dewey and Truman.

Butt now the conundrum: the 4th of July is coming up and many of these elected officials have parade commitments back in their districts. So don’t expect many of them to remain in the Capital Hill sandbox throughout the 4th of July break, I doubt that any of them will miss the last plane out of town. They need to get home to play in their own sandbox where they can now claim moral superiority for having done everything humanly possible to fight for“common sense gun reform.”
Loretta Lynch was dispatched last Sunday to tell us that we couldn’t presume to determine Omar Mateen’s motive for shooting up a gay club. And to advise all of us good little girls, boys, zes, etc. that we would be allowed to read the cleaned up version of Omar’s onsite brag. She reversed herself when even the Left was outraged by such blatant censuring of the 911 tape.
Then Loretta went to Orlando to find out why Omar did what he did:

A faculty committee has proposed adding a three credit hours requirement in diversity to the general education curriculum at Wayne State University. It also recommended that WSU drop its university-wide requirement in mathematics, an idea that was carried out on June 13.
“We are proposing the creation of specific ‘Diversity’ courses, with students required to take one course in this designation,” said a document from the General Education Reform Committee, which is recalibrating what the university will expect from all students who earn a degree from the state university. It released the proposal in May.
The committee report said, “These courses will provide opportunities for students to explore diversity at the domestic level and consider the ways in which it intersects with real world challenges at the local, national and/or global level.” – Zero Hedge
Butt don’t worry, “This decision was made largely because the current (math) requirement is at a level already required by most high school mathematics curriculum." Yes, that’s certainly reassuring; the generation that can’t make change without the aid of a cash register.
