Double Plus Good!

I don’t know if anyone caught the Ann Althouse post regarding a crocodile, 2 NYT journalists, Nikki Haley, Vivek Ramaswamy and Donald Trump. It’s a short read, Ann summarized her point thusly:

It's somehow delightful when Nikki Haley called Vivek Ramaswamy "scum," but Trump got clobbered for calling his political antagonists "vermin." What's the rule here? It's certainly not respect the humanity of all human beings.

Vermin: double not good. Scum: doublegood.

While the article was interesting in itself my favorite part was a comment dropped by someone known as Static Ping...

“It is a difficult thing to realize that you are not a good person by your own standards.”

Of course nobody who needs to come to that conclusion ever does.

That Biden - a for-sale liar, plagiarizer, corrupt, non-achiever - is portrayed as a competent paragon of moral rectitude while Trump will always be considered a crooked underachiever by the chattering class says everything one needs to know about Oceania’s doublespeak. Of course, double standards are linchpins of the left’s legendary lies so they must be maintained.

Double ice cream for Trump: Double ungood.

Double ice cream for Biden:  Double plus good!

Veterans Day 2023

I cannot let this day pass without a nod of gratitude to all the men and women who have served in the armed forces to protect and preserve our country in both wartime as well as peacetime. I know some served more willingly than others as the Vietnam era draft is still a sore point for many. But all who  served did so out of a their sense of responsibility to their country, a sense that doesn’t seem to exist in the propagandized minds of today’s youth.

While the face of freedom’s enemy may morph over time, it never goes away.That is why we’ll always need people on the wall, willing to do whatever is necessary to keep the malignancy at bay; people who don’t need safe spaces and for whom “trigger warning” means something altogether different than hurt feelings

It is why today we honor all those who have responded to the call to serve both currently and in previous generations. To the men and women who carried out their obligation with a senesce of dignity, duty and courage: we salute and thank you.

Falling Further and Further Behind

It’s that time again.

This year however inflation adjustments require getting back only 48 minutes of the hour we lost last spring. According to official government sources, outside of food, energy, mortgage rates and time, inflation is better than ever.

Let’s all just say “thanks Brandon” for “building the economy from the middle out.” By spring we’ll all be used to our $18 Big Mac extra value meals and barely notice losing another 12-15 minutes in the annual  DST time grab: I mean really, you just got 48 minutes back, what more to you want?! It’s all for a good cause, global warming and whatnot.

Anyway buttercup, be sure to factor in the Inflation Reduction Act “discount” to your annual DST clock adjustment and be grateful it wasn’t even more.

I’m still a bit under the weather, 13 hour ER visit last week and still exhausted from it all. Going to lay low for the weekend and hope to feel better in time to hand out trick or treats.

I’m so old I remember when people were still outraged by the slaughter of innocent people by terrorists at a musical event. Can you say “Bataclan?” 

Apparently the world has moved on from its horror of terrorism, at least when it comes to Jews. People around the world have marched to celebrate the weekend massacre, chanting “we are with Palestine” instead of “we are with Israel.” And a sitting member of the U.S. Congress proudly displays her Palestinian flag this week. As someone said, “what part of ‘never again’ did you not understand?” Or as the Patriot’s owner so succinctly put it: “what’s wrong with you people?”

In case you are wondering how it is that Jews, a minority once considered victims are now seen an oppressors you need look no further than the usual suspects: universities and the media.

The @nytimes changed it from “terrorists” to “gunmen.”

BTW, a pro-Palestine group demonstrates against Israel outside of a synagogue in Ann Arbor every Saturday and have been doing so for over 20 years. They’re a dedicated and tenacious lot.

But good, that will just make room for the new staff required to influence the minds of young people gullible enough to pay $100k for a college degree in “internet influencer”.

Trust me, there will be hoards of them. At least their return on investment will be better than kids majoring in boring old degrees like accounting, another discipline being abandoned in droves because it’s too hard and doesn’t pay enough. But getting back to the Internet Influencer degree: better get with it universities, as usual China’s way ahead of us.
